driving in silence

I'm a 27 year old fundraiser living in San Antonio, Texas. I've worked in education, politics, and nonprofits. If something seems important enough for me to write about you'll find it here.

I’m on my fourth crown and crown (I don’t need soda) in the last hour and I’m pretty sure i’m going to be sweating whiskey tomorrow at work. Soooo, I feel pretty responsible planning on showering at lunch before I actually interview some potential new hires tomorrow.

this is smart, yes or yes?

"To be stupid, selfish, and have good health are three requirements for happiness, though if stupidity is lacking, all is lost."

Flaubert

This will be my go-to response from now on for everyone who calls me cynical.

"Studies have shown, that, indeed, introverts are more likely than extroverts to express intimate facts about themselves online that their family and friends would be surprised to read, to say that they can express the “real me” online, and to spend more time in certain kinds of online discussions. They welcome the chance to communicate digitally. The same person who would never raise his hand in a lecture hall of two hundred people might blog to two thousand, or two million, without thinking twice. The same person who finds it difficult to introduce himself to strangers might establish a presence online and then extend those relationships into the real world."

My biggest hobby is being right all the time. It’s been an expensive hobby; it has cost me several relationships.

Last week I was a good Uncle and bought my niece a $50 gift card to Urban Outfitters. I thought she was maybe a bit young to really be going there, but whatever, I’m the cool Uncle, right?

When I was in there the hipster behind the counter asked me if I wanted a paper receipt or if they could email it to me. Figuring it was a good shot at being environmentally friendly I said I’d take the email receipt but now they email me every day about discounts on sundresses or some other bullshit.
